Pete was born and raised in New York, but fell in love with the Emerald Coast on his first visit here in 1984. He is a retired USAF officer, a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, and the University of Oklahoma where he received a masters degree in public administration. While in the USAF, he was a pilot, and became a combat veteran in Operation Urgent Fury, the First Gulf War, and with the United Nations in North Africa. He is married to his wife Barbara and they have three children.
